Our company's annual conference for designers, held in October this year in Mezőkövesd, was a great success.
One of Pureco's annual events is our professional conference called the Designers' Meeting, which we organise for one of our most important target groups: the civil engineers.
The event was attended by professionals from all over the country, to whom we not only talked about Pureco's innovations, products and technological developments but also invited them to think together on design work, opportunities, growing sustainability expectations and market challenges in an interactive professional discussion.
This year, we changed the usual structure from the previous year and organised a panel discussion in addition to the presentations. The panellists were representatives from the engineering, the contracting and the constructing sectors. Participants exchanged views with each other and with invited guests on current issues, challenges, future trends, and impacts affecting the design-build profession.
The event also paid special attention to sustainability efforts. Attendees were also informed about the expected ESG strengthening in the corporate sector, the importance of conscious corporate governance, and the design capacities that underpin ESG reporting. But they also heard expert presentations on concrete pavements, the water quality of the Lake Balaton, and regenerable adsorbent-based drinking water treatment, as well as on our newly developed product, additional new products in our product portfolio and our ongoing projects in the international market.
The first and special prizes of the first Pureco Design Competition were awarded at this year's event. Of the entries submitted to the tender for the development of new products and solutions for stormwater treatment, drinking water or wastewater treatment, which are not yet available on the market, the first prize was awarded to Balázs Szívós for his spring-loaded manhole. The special prize went to Tamás Asztalos for his infiltration sizing application. Congratulations to the winners!
The Pureco Designers' Meeting is a unique event of its kind. There has never been a national event in the water industry that brings together water designers and civil engineers. This meeting was the fourth in a series, and the positive feedback from participants suggests that there is a need for a continuation. See you in 2024!
