A Hungrana Starch and Sugar Manufacturer and Distributor Ltd. as the most significant European maize processing company and a key player of the Hungarian food industry for more than a century. Their production plant in Szabadegyháza underwent modernization, expansion and renovation, one of the elements of which was the replacement of the industrial sewage system in 2019. Having regard to the extremely high concentration of wastewater discharged by the factory, pipe materials with excellent chemical resistance could only be considered for the reconstruction. The clay pipes sold by Pureco met all the requirements, their application is synonymous with safety and quality, as the almost unlimited lifetime, low operation and maintenance costs, high chemical resistance, easy to clean, pollutant-free, and the most environmentally friendly glazed clay pipes are currently available on the market.
Another special feature of the project is that this is the third time we delivered clay shafts for connecting pipes in Hungary and the 15 shafts were relatively large in diameter (DN 1000 mm). For an effiicient work of the plant’s industrial wastewater drainage it is necessary to prevent water entering from outer sources through non-well-insulated shafts and, of course, the drained wastewater must not leak into the soil. The clay shaft systems distributred by Pureco and manufactured by Steinzeug-Keramo fully meet these requirements. For the investment, each clay shaft was tailored to the specific needs, based on a unique “tailoring pattern”.
