Further demonstrating the growing international interest in Hungarian water sector innovations, a delegation of Indian water industry professionals recently visited Budapest.

The delegation, which came to Hungary as part of a business mission organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), was welcomed at the offices of the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP).

The delegation included senior representatives from six companies and industry organisations active in drinking water treatment, wastewater management, infrastructure development, and regional water services. Among the participants was the President of a major Indian industry federation, reflecting the strategic importance of the visit and the growing interest in Hungarian water-sector expertise.

The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into Hungarian water management and water treatment solutions, while also exploring potential business and technological cooperation opportunities. During the programme, the delegates met with Hungarian water industry companies and professional organisations and learned about some of the most innovative developments within the sector.

Particular attention was given to the regenerable adsorbent-based drinking water treatment technology developed by Puraset Ltd., a member of the Pureco Group.

The technology offers an efficient and sustainable solution for the removal of arsenic and other naturally occurring contaminants from drinking water sources. It is especially relevant for the Indian market, where ensuring access to safe drinking water remains a significant challenge in many regions. In addition to improving water quality, the regenerable adsorbent media can be reused multiple times, significantly reducing the amount of hazardous waste generated and contributing to more sustainable operation.

The interest shown by the Indian delegation builds on earlier engagement. Last year, Pureco presented this technology at IFAT India in Mumbai, where we introduced our innovative drinking water treatment solutions to representatives of India's water and environmental sectors during a professional panel discussion. The exhibition provided an important opportunity to establish connections with local stakeholders and explore potential applications of the technology in the Indian market.

The visit of the Indian delegation to Budapest highlights the increasing recognition of Hungarian expertise and innovation in the global water sector. For Pureco, it is particularly important to showcase its solutions in countries where access to safe drinking water is a strategic priority and where sustainable, cost-effective technologies can create tangible environmental and social value.
