Our Managing Director, Bálint Horváth, started the presentation of Pureco's products and services in Sri Lanka, a remote location, in 2022. Building partnerships in Asia will be a priority in our sales policy, which, in addition to the economic aspects, will also reinforce our sustainability goals, as the provision of a good quality drinking water service in this country is also a top priority. The one-day meeting was held in Colombo, the capital of the island, at the invitation of Péter Szíjjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The event was opened by the President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, Mr. Nandika Buddhipala, followed by a speech by Dr. Bandula Gunawardana, Minister of Commerce, and the opening speeches were concluded by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Afterwards, a series of presentations on investment opportunities in Sri Lanka, the Colombo Port City Priority Investment and Service Zone, and the work and experience of Hungarian companies that have already successfully implemented investments. Then, in a 3-hour B2B meeting, the leaders of Hungarian and local companies had the opportunity to meet in a more informal way. Our Managing Director described the short but meaningful event as a fundamental success. Our company plans to focus on projects related to drinking water treatment in the future, and we believe that we will be competitive in this field based on our already successful project in Vietnam.
