Pureco is on Planet 21

In most developing countries, there is still no networked water supply. In many countries in Africa and Southeast Asia, domestic and industrial wastewater is returned to the environment untreated, Károly Kovács, President of the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP), told M1 Planet 21. He also said that the HWP was established to develop the exportable knowledge, products, solutions and services of the Hungarian water sector and to support its international market entry, Bálint Horváth, Managing Director of Pureco Ltd., one of the founding members of HWP, said that the company attaches great importance to the fact that both at home and abroad, customers should be able to manage and operate the completed plant easily and independently. He cited the example of the drinking water treatment plant in Vietnam, which not only contributes to improving the quality of water in the city, but also slows the migration of people from rural towns and raises the standard of living in rural areas.
Another good practice he mentioned was the wastewater treatment plants built by the company in Ghana, which had to find a solution to treat the sewage , where even the lack of a sewerage system made it difficult to improve water quality. Bálint Horváth pointed out that in Ghana, the development is taking place in 3 rural towns (Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi), which also increases the population retention capacity of the countryside. The construction of the Kumasi plant has already been completed and the 5-month trial run, with the presence of Hungarian engineers, has been learning from local experts and the experience so far has been very good. The other two cities are still under construction. The Managing Director said that the company will report on the results in concrete terms at the Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo and World Summit starting on 29 November 2021, where the professional audience will be able to meet innovative water management companies from the V4 countries.
